ACSSU Alumni Night

  • 1500 Gulleden Drive Mississauga, ON, L4X 2T7 Canada (map)

You are invited to attend a night to celebrate our alumni! This night will be great to reconnect with old friends, make new friends and connections and a night to enjoy some food from this years ACSSU of Canada committee.

For all alumni that attend we ask you to kindly please send us a message or an email telling us about your attendance so we can plan food and maybe a small little gift accordingly.

Here is a biography of our guest speaker, Steve Netniss who will be at the event.
Steve Netniss was born and raised of Assyrian-American parents in Turlock, California. In 2004 and 2009 he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from California State University Stanislaus and a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, respectively. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at California State University Stanislaus while overseeing innovation and technology at an independent school in Oakland, California. On his off time, Steve enjoys traveling to new places, reading, and watching NFL on TV.

Since religion and culture are intimately tied for Assyrians, Steve has written a book that helps everyone to think about religion and culture from a different perspective. POTENTIAL: The Assyrian Quest for Identity gives an overview of who the Assyrians are and the relevance of their ethnicity in today’s times. This book is a conversation starter that will help people of all spiritual backgrounds gain an appreciation for the role of ethnicity within the biblical story.
This will be a night about you, our alumni! You may have some qustions so we will try to answer them ahead of time below:

Q: Do I have to come if I was invited?
A: Yes it would be rude not to and you will miss out on many great things that people for generations will speak about!

Q: Can I bring my partner with me?
A: You defnitely can, actually it's encouraged!

Q: I have children, what do I do with them?
A: You can bring them as well! This will be a children friendly event and we will have activites for children of all ages

Q: Will Zaya Oshana be there and do I have to interact with him?
A: Yes, Zaya will most likely be there, and you don't have to interact with him if you don't want to, but it's the nice thing to do, also laughing at his jokes is polite (regardless if they are funny or not)

Q: What if I have more questions?
A: Send us a message or email us at
